Brazil enters the select list of the Top 5 countries that most generate malicious traffic in the world.
The origin: 2 regional providers, one from Santa Catarina and the other from the interior of São Paulo.
Brazil has not ranked in the top 5 most viewed countries generating malicious traffic around the world for a long time. However, on the 9th of August the country left behind the 9th position it occupied the day before and jumped to the 5th position in the HackNet ranking, rising to 4th position the following day, the 10th of August.
Since then, Brazil has not left this ranking, being in it for 6 consecutive days.
In an analysis based on the intelligence of the HackNet, the NetSensor team mapped the source of this malicious traffic: 2 local providers, one from Santa Catarina and the other from the interior of São Paulo.
Together they were responsible for around 43% of all malicious traffic coming from Brazil, with Santa Catarina accounting for around 30% and São Paulo for around 13%.
To get an idea of the dimension of this, large nationwide service providers such as Telefônica represent around 6%, Claro 3.5% and Algar 2%.
There are also reports of increased DDoS traffic in Brazilian territory, which may be directly related to the large number of infected equipment at these providers and which, since the 9th, are showing their face.
