One month ago, on 01/06/2023, a new service started up on HACKNET that links malicious traffic sources with the companies to which such sources are related.
About the service
The service consists of new analyzes based on data that was already collected by HACKNET, NETSENSOR's artificial neural network, which collects, analyzes and catalogs information about hacker activities around the world.
In these new analyses, each source of malicious traffic detected on the network is related to the organization to which it is linked, enriching the existing data and forming an even larger database, which is used to extract important information such as, for example, giving visibility about the organizations that have been most seen generating malicious traffic across the planet.
From this knowledge base, statistics and a ranking of the most offending companies on the planet are generated.
The purpose
With this increase in information and analysis based on existing data in its artificial neural network, HACKNET will be able to provide visibility into even more details about hackers around the world. In addition to knowing information such as the origins of malicious traffic, geographic locations and the services that are being targeted, now it will be known which organizations are linked to the sources of attacks.
“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.” - Sun Tzu, The Art of War
In times of cyber war, threat intelligence brings us valuable knowledge, giving us important visibility on the scenario we are facing, allowing us to know a little more about our “enemies”. In addition, it also gives us the chance to evolve our self-knowledge, providing subsidies to analyze and reflect on our own environment, allowing us to act proactively in mitigating risks, working better on our vulnerabilities, as we come to know more details about the threats that are lurking around us, through the shadows of the internet.
